Steamboat Wesley Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Steamboat Wesley collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the app.
Steamboat Wesley is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to The Walt Disney Company or Walt Disney World Resort.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the app, we may collect the following information:
Account information
- Name, email address, username, display name, and account ID.
- Profile details such as bio, avatar, cover photo, favorite park, social handles, website URL, and preferences.
- Account status, role, onboarding status, settings, and consent records.
Content you provide
- Posts, comments, likes, poll votes, direct messages, reports, reviews, and group/channel activity.
- Hidden Mouse capture photos, notes, collection names, timestamps, and collection activity.
- Blog/admin content if you have permission to create or manage it.
Photos and files
If you upload photos, images, GIFs, or other files, the app stores the uploaded file and related metadata needed to display and manage it.
Location information
Some features may use location data, including map features, proximity notifications, geo-zones, or Hidden Mouse capture logging.
Location collection depends on the feature and your permissions. You can deny location access through your device or browser settings. If you choose “Beyond the Bubble” for a Hidden Mouse capture, the app is designed not to request or store GPS coordinates for that capture.
Device, usage, and technical information
We may collect technical information such as browser type, device type, IP-related information, app interactions, page visits, timestamps, error logs, notification subscription details, and general usage data needed for security, debugging, analytics, and performance.
Communications and notifications
If you enable push notifications, we store push subscription information needed to send notifications. If you contact us, we may keep your message and contact information.
Newsletter consent
If you choose to receive our email newsletter, we record that you opted in and when. Your email address is then added to our newsletter list on Substack so the newsletter can be delivered to you. We also record if and when you withdraw that consent.
2. How we use information
We use information to:
- Create and manage accounts.
- Display profiles, feeds, posts, comments, messages, likes, collections, and community activity.
- Operate Hidden Mouse collections, capture flows, maps, and related features.
- Send notifications, including in-app and optional push notifications.
- Send our email newsletter, including park news, community updates, blog posts, and occasional promotional content, only if you have opted in.
- Support moderation, reporting, safety, abuse prevention, and account deletion.
- Personalize app experiences, such as settings, theme, and preferences.
- Improve app performance, reliability, and design.
- Maintain legal, security, and operational records.
- Provide shop, blog, admin, and community features.
3. How information is shared
We may share information in the following ways:
With other users
Public or community content may be visible to other users, including your username, display name, avatar, posts, comments, likes, Hidden Mouse logs, collection activity, and public profile information.
Direct messages are intended for the sender and recipient, but may be reviewed if reported, required for safety, or needed to enforce these policies.
With service providers
We use service providers for hosting, database storage, authentication, file storage, app infrastructure, maps, GIF search, push notifications, email, payments/commerce, analytics, security, and other operations. These providers process information as needed to deliver their services.
With our newsletter provider (Substack)
If you opt in to the newsletter, we share your email address — and, where relevant, your display name — with Substack, the platform we use to publish and send our newsletter. Substack processes this information to deliver the newsletter, manage subscription status, handle unsubscribes, and report basic delivery statistics such as opens and clicks. Substack's use of your information is also governed by its own privacy policy.
We do not sell your email address, and we do not share it with unrelated advertisers.
We only add your email address to the newsletter list if you have opted in. If you withdraw consent or unsubscribe, we remove you from that list.
For safety and legal reasons
We may disclose information if we believe it is necessary to comply with law, protect users, investigate abuse, enforce policies, respond to legal requests, prevent fraud, or address security incidents.
Business transfers
If the app or related assets are transferred, merged, sold, or reorganized, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy or a replacement policy.
4. Cookies, local storage, and similar technologies
The app uses cookies, local storage, session storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, support app functionality, manage consent, improve performance, and provide security. See the Cookie Policy for more details.
5. Data retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the app, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce policies, prevent abuse, and maintain backups. Some deleted data may remain temporarily in backups or logs before being removed according to normal retention practices.
6. Account deletion and privacy choices
Where available, you may delete your account in settings. You may also update profile information, disable direct messages, block or mute users, manage device permissions, unsubscribe from browser push notifications, or adjust cookie/storage preferences through your browser.
You may withdraw newsletter consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email or by contacting us at the address below. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it, and does not affect your account or your access to the app. Deleting your account does not automatically remove you from the Substack newsletter list — please unsubscribe as well, or contact us and we will remove you.
Deleting your account may remove or anonymize personal data associated with your account, subject to legal, safety, security, and backup limitations.
7. Children and teens
The app is intended for a family-friendly community. Location-based features may be limited for minors. We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children under the age required by applicable law without appropriate consent. If you believe a child has provided information improperly, contact us.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information. No online service is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. International users
Your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. Privacy rights and legal protections may differ by location.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To make a privacy request, contact us at the email below. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may update the effective date, post the revised version in the app, or provide other notice.
12. Contact
Questions or privacy requests may be sent to:
